MV + Young Highland Awards
Millennium Volunteers
If you are a volunteer, or are considering becoming a volunteer, then you really have nothing to lose by applying for a Millennium Volunteers Award (MVA). It doesn't cost you anything more than just some of your time. This award is a certificate signed by a Scottish Executive Minister which recognises all of your volunteering efforts.
To succeed in getting an award you have to carry out 50hrs, 100hrs or 200hrs of volunteering. This may sound like a lot of time but you can do this over 2 years... so that's really just two days over two years you would need to give up for the 50 hours award. You must be aged 16-25 years.
To apply just get in contact with your local volunteering centre here.
Young Highlander Awards
Throughout the Highlands it has been identified that many young people under the age of 16 currently volunteer. The Young Highlander Award has been introduced as a way to reward these volunteers for their hard work. If an organisation has volunteers under the age of 16 helping out with, e.g:
Fundraising
Setting up stalls
Supporting younger members
Why not nominate them to register for this award and get something back!!
There are three levels of Young Highlander Award
BRONZE AWARD =40 Hours
SILVER AWARD= 60Hours
GOLD AWARD = 120 Hours
