Youth Forums & Youth Banks
If you don't fancy Highland Youth Voice, or you want to get some experience to increase your chances of being elected, then there are other ways of getting involved.
Forums
Youth Forums have been set up in the 8 geographical areas of Highland to allow young people to explore the issues that are important to them and work together to act as a collective voice for young people in the area.
As an organised group it means that young people and their ideas are taken seriously by people such as councillors, local organisations and businessmen, allowing you to influence the changes that are happening on your doorstep and ensuring that the voices of young people can't be ignored!
The main aim of the Youth Forum is to make the Highlands a more youth friendly and fun place to live, by influencing developments and organising your own events.
It also benefits the young people who get involved - giving them responsibility for the projects that are being run, organising team building activities and becoming more socially aware and active citizens.
The Youth Forum is a great way to meet new people, express your creative ideas, build up your CV and really make the Highlands a more exciting place to live!
Many Youth Forums have a YouthBank and are members of the wider YouthBank UK.
Banks
Youthbank is an exciting opportunity for you to either apply for some funding for your project or to take part in a group in your local area to decide what project to fund.
